Sign-up for flat rail fare starts Monday

The Transport Ministry is urging Thais to sign up for the government's flat-rate electric train fare in Bangkok, the registration for which is scheduled to open on Monday.
Ministry spokesman Kritchanon Aiyapanya said registration via the “Tang Rat” mobile application will remain open with no quota or deadline, allowing all Thais to benefit from the policy, which is only available to them.
To register, passengers must provide their 13-digit national ID number and link either an EMV contactless card (Europay, Mastercard, or Visa) or a Rabbit Card. Each passenger may register one EMV card and one Rabbit Card.
