RTA to be grilled on diesel fuel missing since 2022

The House committee on military affairs will summon the Royal Thai Army (RTA) to explain the disappearance of large volumes of diesel fuel from the 18th Military Circle in Saraburi, a committee member said yesterday.
Chetawan Thuaprakhon, a People’s Party (PP) MP for Pathum Thani, said the committee is investigating at least two incidents of missing fuel, which he described as potentially serious misconduct.
The House inquiry session is scheduled to take place today, he said.
The first case dates back to 2022, involving about 215,000 litres of diesel. The army finally launched a probe on Oct 1, 2023, more than a year later.
