Roadshow aims to bolster Taiwanese arrivals in 2025

The Association of Thai Travel Agents (Atta) held a travel roadshow in Taiwan yesterday, aiming to increase Taiwanese arrivals to 1 million this year.
Taiwanese arrivals contracted 8% year-on-year during the first eight months of 2025, attributed to safety concerns about Thailand and higher competition from other Asian destinations.
The roadshow was held in Taipei in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), gathering 60 Thai tourism operators and more than 300 buyers from across Taiwan.
Sisdivachr Cheewarattanaporn, advisory chairman at Atta, said this year Taiwanese arrivals have declined, in part because of media attention about Chinese actor Wang Xing who was kidnapped and taken to a scam centre in Myanmar via Thailand.
