One more anthrax case has been confirmed in Mukdahan province, while more than 600 are believed to have been exposed to the deadly bacterial disease.

So far, one man has been confirmed to have died from anthrax after butchering and consuming raw beef.

A friend of the man, a 53-year-old resident of Don Tan district, is the latest individual to be infected.

Three other suspected anthrax patients are awaiting confirmation from their RT-PCR tests, Dr Narong Chankaeo, chief of Mukdahan's provincial health office, said yesterday.
