Mid-match injury ends Pornpawee’s run in semis

»Pornpawee Chochuwong’s bid for her first title since February ended in tears after the Thai star pulled out of the semifinals of the US$475,000 (approx 15.2 million baht) BWF Korea Open in Suwon yesterday.

After pushing Korean world No.1 An Se-Young all the way in the first game before losing 21-19, third seed Pornpawee retired at 0-8 in the second for what appeared to be a leg injury.
The Thai star was forced to withdraw after slipping and injuring her left calf. She was in tears while being taken off in a wheelchair.
