Industrial confidence falls in December

The Thai Industries Sentiment Index (TISI) fell to 88.2 in December, from 89.1 points the previous month, due to growing concerns over the impact of a general election and a plunge in border trade with Cambodia and Myanmar, says the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI).

Six civilians were injured and two houses damaged in December 2025 after BM-21 rockets launched by the Cambodian military struck residential areas in Si Sa Ket's Kantharalak district. Border trade in Si Sa Ket was disrupted by the conflict.

The Anutin Charnvirakul administration decided to dissolve parliament even though it had worked for only 2.5 months, resulting in some policies being halted. This delay will affect the continuity of the government's efforts to deal with economic issues, noted the federation.
