Bangkok bad boys The Young Wolf are rocking the pack
The Young Wolf is the latest addition to the Microwave label under Tero Music, which has increasingly positioned itself as a home for Thai artists writing and performing in English, aiming to reach both domestic listeners and wider international audiences.
But rather than presenting themselves as a polished export product, The Young Wolf arrive with a more grounded charm — five musicians from Bangkok who aren't interested in pretending to be anything other than what they are.
Their sound is built from instinct, energy, and the unruly rhythm of the city that raised them. They're newcomers, but not tentative ones.
Formed by vocalist Wasan “Jonathan” Sittisa, guitarists Phachara Rurngrueangsombat and Warit Withunat, bassist Nanot Patchuay and drummer Setthawong Wechprasit, the band came together through the city’s small gig circuit — half-underground venues, rehearsal rooms and shared networks of musicians.
Jonathan recalled that the chemistry was immediate the first time they played together: “It just made sense. Our noise became tuned into one frequency, loud, dirty, and perfect.”
From the beginning, they weren't trying to fit into a genre or hit a particular target audience; they simply wanted to make music that felt alive. When asked to describe their sound for new listeners, Jonathan puts it in blunt, memorable terms: “Loud. Fast. Real. No fluff, no filters. We don’t chase genres or trends, we chase feelings.” The statement captures their approach — less strategy, more impulse.
