Khon La Khrueng to benefit 33m people
The government will launch the first phase of the Khon La Khrueng co-payment scheme in October, providing 2,000-2,400 baht per person over two months to an estimated 33 million beneficiaries.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul confirmed yesterday that the scheme would begin next month, adding that further details should be obtained from the finance minister.
Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas said the cabinet will review the 2025 budget spending plan at next week's meeting following the delivery of the policy statement. Details of the co-payment scheme are expected to be tabled for approval in the second week of October.
Asked whether the scheme would have two phases, he said the government was studying the possibility.
