As ironies go, this among the sadder ones: never in human history has so much information - much of it endlessly fascinating - been so readily available to so many people, including children from a very young age.

All you need do to access it is to have a mobile phone, tablet or laptop along with an internet connection. And yet across much of the planet, not least in Thailand, educational attainment on average is stagnating if not outright eroding.
