EC ‘ready’ to hold election, Sawaeng says

Poll agency calls on govt to finalise date
The Election Commission (EC) has announced its readiness to organise a general election alongside two national referendums under one ballot, should the government set the date for March 29, 2026.
The EC emphasised that if the votes proceed, the first referendum question must be submitted no later than Jan 13 to allow for a 75-day preparation period.
EC secretary-general Sawaeng Boonmee said that the EC is ready to conduct a general election, as well as two national referendums — whether held concurrently or separately.
If both are to take place at the same time, the same polling stations would be used, he said.
