Chinese tourist admits brutal Pattaya murder

A Chinese man has admitted to the brutal murder of a Thai transwoman in Pattaya after she allegedly refused to have sex with him.
Authorities said the suspect later mutilated her body in a gruesome act he described as wanting to “play” with it.
Fu Tongyung, 42, was arrested at Suvarnabhumi airport in Samut Prakan on Saturday while attempting to flee the country. He admitted killing 25-year-old Woranan Pannacha, a native of Nong Khai, police say.
Pattaya police chief Pol Col Anek Sathongyu said Mr Fu met Woranan near South Pattaya Beach on Friday evening and exchanged contact information via the WeChat messaging app. At the time, Mr Fu believed Woranan was a woman by birth.
