Airport rail contract not cancelled

Transport Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn has dismissed speculation that the government plans to scrap the contract for the high-speed railway project linking three airports - Don Mueang, Suvarnabhumi, and U-Tapao.
Mr Phiphat, who also serves as deputy prime minister, said the 224.5-billion-baht project between the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) and Asia Era One Co., a subsidiary of the CP Group, has not been cancelled.
"We cannot terminate the contract since it is already in effect, but we will invite the winning bidder for discussions," he said.
