Agencies nab mayor for alleged kickbacks

Police and anti-corruption agencies have arrested the mayor of Tha Sila municipality in Sakon Nakhon province for allegedly extorting money from contract workers in exchange for extended employment.
Pol Maj Gen Jruykiat Pankaeo, deputy commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau, led the joint operation with officials from the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) and the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) yesterday.
