Activist sentenced to 46 years over Facebook posts

The Supreme Court has sentenced activist Mongkol “Busbas” Thirakhot to 46 years in prison for lèse-majesté over posts he made on social media.

The Human Rights Lawyers Centre reported that the Chiang Rai Provincial Court yesterday read the Supreme Court’s ruling in the case of Mongkol, a 32-year-old former online clothes seller and activist.
