One year as an MP - it's the job interview that never ends

It's hard to believe it's already been a year since I was elected as your Member of Parliament.

As your voice in Parliament, I see this role as the job interview that never endsand you, the people of Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock, are my boss. So, here's my first annual report.

From day one, my top priority has been helping local people. That's why I opened an accessible office right in Lorne Arcade, just off Ayr High Street, offering ongoing advice. I have also taken the time to hold surgeries in every corner of the constituency. Whether it's a housing issue, a query about social security, or something else entirely, you can reach us by phone or emailthere is no need to wait for a surgery. So far, we've handled over 3,000 cases and helped return more than £35,000 to local people through our casework.
