Dedicated private service is one of its kind in Scotland
A woman whose menopausal symptoms were mistaken for a potential brain tumour is celebrating two successful years of supporting and empowering women.
Maggie Holloway launched Scotland's first dedicated private menopause clinic Menopause Health Matters in 2023 after her own journey with menopause inspired her to help other women in Scotland with a facility closer to home.
Maggie's story and her journey began when she first began experiencing symptoms of menopause aged 45 - with doctors mistakenly believing her severe dizziness could be linked to a brain tumour. After two years of helping women to “feel like themselves again” at their clinic on Miller Road in Ayr, Maggie and the team want to let women know that they are here to help anyone struggling with menopause.
Maggie, who is affectionately known as Menopause Maggie, said: “I want to let women know that the clinic is here for the women of Scotland. We are a totally dedicated, private menopause clinic. “The team that we have here is incredible. They are all so lovely and friendly.
“The whole ethos of the clinic is for ladies to feel calm when they come in so we have that spa feel to it. “Scotland needs this and the women in Scotland need this. We are here and we want to let ladies know that we are here.
