Zoe Davidson struck off after pocketing £2,700 from service user
A care home worker has been struck off after she was convicted of stealing more than £2,700 from a nursing home resident in Ayrshire.
Zoe Davidson was convicted of theft at Ayr Sheriff Court in November last year - after stealing the money from a service user at council-run Hillcrest Care Home, in McConnell Square, Girvan.
The thefts took place between May 17, 2023 and August 27, 2023. Davidson took £2,720 from the resident, papers show.
Now the industry regulator, the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), has stepped in and removed Davidson's name from the social care register.
In their notice of decision the SSSC told Davidson she abused the trust placed in her.
Their decision notice states: “You (Davidson) have been convicted of stealing £2,720 from a vulnerable service user. You have abused your position of trust and used the service user’s finances for your own personal use.
