Overnight closures in town centre as works enter a new stage

Works will introduce a new road layout at the junction of Longbridge, Union Road and Victoria Road

MAJOR road works in Farnham town centre are expected to enter a new stage, with 10 overnight closures planned.

Work to introduce a new road layout at the junction of Longbridge, Union Road and Victoria Road was expected to begin on Monday (May 19) and last until mid-August.

The new junction will mean traffic will be able to access and exit Waggon Yard car park without the need to travel around the gyratory. When finished it will have traffic lights linked to the others in the town centre, improved pedestrian crossings as well as new planting, paving and cycle stands.

This is not the first phase of roadworks in Farnham. Work began in the town in February and is expected to last two years. Once completed it will completely transform the road layout. Most recently, the focus has been on Downing Street.
