BOSSES INSIST CHANGE NEEDED FOR GROWTH IN FRESH CONSULTATION
-
THE owners of Farnborough Airport have submitted new plans to Rushmoor Borough Council in a bid to change the airport's operations and increase growth.
The borough council said Farnborough Airport Ltd is asking in its new planning application for permission to increase the number of non-weekday (weekends and public holidays) aircraft movements from 8,900 to 13,500 per year; amend the aircraft weight category of 50,000kg-80,000kg to 55,000kg-80,000kg, including an increase from 270 to 405 annual aircraft movements for non-weekdays, and to amend the conditions related to airport public safety zones.
It added no changes are proposed to the public safety zones currently adopted by the airport. However, it is proposed to amend the conditions to correspond with the latest guidance, published by the Department for Transport in October 2021, and any future changes.
Interested residents and businesses can now view the proposals (reference number 25/00615/REV) and comment at https://www.rushmoorgov.uk/airportconsultation - the closing date for comments is Tuesday, December 30.
