Team effort for great Summerlee show

A pop-up performance will be coming to Coatbridge this summer as Scottish Opera and Scottish Canals team up for a musical tour for all age groups.

Children's opera Puffy MacPuffer and the Crabbit Canals and two extracts from Gilbert & Sullivan's comic operas will be performed on stage at Summerlee museum - beside the Monkland Canal.

Schools in North Lanarkshire will also be among those in eight local authority areas across Scotland to enjoy free performances as part of the nationwide tour.

Created specifically for youngsters aged five to eight with music and words by Marion Christie, Puffy MacPuffer & The Crabbit Canals tells the tale of the five waterways that link Scotland, from the North Sea to the Atlantic.
