Ride crashes at Bilimora fair; 5 hurt

Probe ordered; all major rides at Somnath Mahadev Temple fair suspended
Panic struck devotees at the Somnath Mahadev Temple fair in Bilimora on Sunday night when a 50-foot-high adventure ride, popularly known as the tower ride, came crashing down at around 10.30 pm, leaving five people seriously injured, including two children.
According to eyewitnesses, the ride, which ascends and descends along a tall iron tower, suddenly collapsed after a supporting cable snapped, sending the cabin crashing to the ground. Around 10 people were on board when the accident occurred.
