Courts Can't Refuse Constitutional Questions, Even If Political: SC

The Supreme Court on Tuesday said power of judicial review forms part of basic structure and courts cannot decline answer to constitutional questions even if controversy was political in nature.

The top court, however, said it would only interpret the Constitution while dealing with the Presidential reference on whether the court could impose timelines for governors and President to deal with bills passed by state assemblies.
