Amid erratic monsoon, sharp rise in seasonal diseases in city

Monsoon may have brought relief from the scorching heat, but at the same time it has triggered a sharp rise in seasonal diseases across the city. Data from GMERS Medical College and Hospital, Sola, reveals that in the seven weeks between the end of June and mid-August, thousands of patients suffering from mosquito-borne and water-borne diseases sought treatment—an indication of how unstable weather and humidity are fuelling a health crisis.
