AMC's AI cattle ID sys completes dry run

Nasal pattern recognition tested on 60 stray cattle in 4 areas

The photographs were sent for AI analysis and were fed into the data. "Once the photos were fed into the AI, it started identifying the cattle, their body movement, their body temperature, their age, their breed, their sex, their colour and their breed," said a source. Cattle have long curved horns, a characteristic of the Gir breed. "The AI system is expected to go to the actual field, click photos of the cattle on the streets and feed them into the AMC's AI system. The AI system will then work like an AMC, which will work," an AMC official said.

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has completed a dry run of its AI cattle identification system. The pilot hits city streets by end of March.
