MP calls for Reform UK to suspend new councillor

A LABOUR MP has called for Reform UK to suspend one of its new Lancashire County Councillors over a social media post on illegal immigration featuring Hitler and the Nazi high command.

Hyndburn's Sarah Smith says the item put on Facebook by new Accrington North County Cllr Joel Tetlow was 'offensive and deeply disrespectful' in the week the nation celebrates VE Day.
The controversial post, which has now been taken down, shows Hitler and his generals poring over a map saying: 'Why don't we invade them slowly? A few men at a time in small boats.
Above the picture Cllr Tetlow says: "Let's be grateful this idea was never put to him or the world as we know it would be a whole lot different."
The LDRS has attempted to contact County Cllr Tetlow himself, who has told Sky News he was indeed likening small boats to "an invasion, although one more akin to that of the Trojan War - and that he did not intend "any disrespect" by using the image of the Nazi leader in the week of the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
The Reform UK representative elected recently as the party took control of Lanca-shire County Council, has already been in trouble over his Facebook posts.
He faced calls to stand down before the poll for sharing content on his page including posts from the British Democrats and adding that people coming from the 'third world don't integrate but infiltrate.
