Martin and Grant extend Reds stay

ACCRINGTON Stanley duo Dan Martin and Conor Grant have both signed new deals with the cluib.

Midfielder Martin has signed a new one-year contract with the club.

Martin who was born in Manchester and joined Stanley in September 2010, as an Under-9 signed his maiden professional deal in the autumn of 2020 and then made his First Team debut in the Carabao Cup almost two years later.

The 23-year-old played a further 28 times in 2022/23 with 75% of those games coming in Sky Bet League One and has since represented the Reds on a total of 77 occasions; as well as loans at South Shields, and Bamber Bridge.

Manager John Doolan said: "It's a big season for Dan he is a top footballer, he has played a lot of games in League One and League Two combined, and he has the experience.

"He now needs to stamp his authority and try and get himself a regular place in the first team, that goes on performances in terms of training to get the shirt and then performances in terms of playing.
