Sirker's glad he's moved Down Under

CALLUM Sirker feels Championship players are a victim of Premiership clubs financial mismanagement so decided midway through last season to leave Cornish Pirates to move to Australia and focus on his law career while also playing in the Shute Shield for West Harbour.
Sirker, 25, feels there’s very little opportunities for aspiring top flight players due to the Premiership’s financial financial squeeze and believes that he made the right call in moving Down Under.
“I’d just turned 25 and I thought to myself with the state of English rugby and everything that’s going on, is this a good career to keep progressing in and at the time it wasn’t,” said Sirker.
“The Championship isn’t in a great state. There are players on small salaries who are fighting for a dream that won’t happen. Due to the mismanagement of clubs in the Premiership, opportunities to play there have fallen by the wayside now and are becoming less and less. All teams have got money problems due to Covid and that’s not going to go away anytime soon.
