Ounsley: We want to bring home gold next time

HAVING been forced to watch her Exeter side come up just short in the Premier 15s final, Jodie Ounsley is hoping to play her part in taking the Chiefs one step further next season.
Ounsley, 22, tore her patella tendon whilst training back in November and after a promising start to the season with two tries scored in six games, she had to make do with watching on from the sidelines.
Exeter finished second in the regular season and lifted the Allianz Cup in Ounsley’s absence but the former England Sevens flyer reveals the pain the squad suffered following their defeat to Gloucester-Hartpury in last month’s Premier 15s final.
“When you’re in the team losing a final feels like the end of the world for everyone,” said Ounsley. “The feeling of coming so far and losing at that stage felt like we let people down but if we think about what we’ve done; we’ve been together for three seasons, been in two finals and won two cup finals.
