DEFENDER Remi Sutton says he will be a happy man when he eventually hangs up his boots - because he's already landed a rare FA Trophy and Vase double.

- JOHN LYONS

REMI'S GOT A WEMBLEY DOUBLE TO REMEMBER

The 32-year-old notched up part one when he helped Horn church to a surprise Trophy success in 2021.

The Isthmian Premier outfit overcame a bunch of higher ranked teams and Covid restrictions to reach Wembley, where they beat National League North side Hereford 3-1.

Left-back Sutton then made it a dream double by starting Romford's 3-0 Vase final victory against Great Wakering Rovers under the arch last weekend.

Dual-signed from Hornchurch early in the new year as he came back from a long-term groin injury, he couldn't resist sticking around to see if he could play his part in Boro's bid.

Now he's carved his own piece of history in both of Non-League's premier cup competitions.

“I didn’t think I would be fortunate enough to get there the first time,” he told The NLP.
