NUNN IS NOT RUSHING OFF!
The Non-League Football Paper
|July 09, 2023
UPBEAT Chris Nunn reckons it ‘just feels right’ to be staying at AFC Rushden & Diamonds for the coming campaign.

Brought in from Kempston Rovers when Diamonds were rooted to the bottom of Southern Premier Central in December, the 50-year-old couldn’t prevent relegation – but he did learn plenty about the club in the second half of the season.
It goes a long way to explaining why he decided to remain in the hotseat and ignore overtures from elsewhere.
“From a personal point of view, if I’d left and gone somewhere else it would have been four clubs in 18 months and I’m not a person who likes to jump ship,” said the former long-serving Biggleswade Town boss. “That was one thing, but I would have left if I wasn’t happy.
“I always knew it would be a battle to stay up - even Tom Cruise probably couldn’t have done it! There were a couple of offers financially better and with bigger budgets to work with, but I just felt we had started building something here.
Connection
“I had made a real connection with the supporters, who have been unbelievable with me, and it just feels right to be here. I feel like I’m at home and I’m working with good people. Considering we got relegated, there’s positivity around the club.”
