Travel maybe shouldn't be any different than "regular" life, but it is.
When we aren't on our normal hamster wheel, we see again. The landscape makes an impression. We move with more spontaneity.
We ride the wave of serendipity, hitching a ride with a group of Swedes going to a beer garden or whatever. And sometimes, if we're lucky, time telescopes and folds back on itself, giving perspective and insight into the turning of the wheel of our own lives. That's what happened in Paris in 2002.
