The smart home gap for renters

Tech-savvy tenants want smarter homes, yet landlords resist.

The smart home market can mean very different things to different people. For some, it’s an essential part of everyday life. For others, it's a luxury they can take or leave, or avoid completely.

There's one area of the smart home ecosystem that consistently frustrates me: the rental market. Not because I don’t know how to build a smart home in a rental, but because the industry itself simply isn’t designed with renters in mind.
