Stitching A Sartorial Dream
Robb Report India
|September - October 2025
At The Darzi, father-son duo Sunil and Sushain Mital craft generational luxury, one bespoke suit at a time.
In the world of luxury menswear, heritage only matters if it’s worn. At The Darzi Group, every stitch tells a story that is uniquely yours. What began over four decades ago in Delhi as a small bespoke atelier has grown into one of India’s most influential menswear houses. Today, with global credentials and an unwavering commitment to detail, The Darzi Group continues to shape the wardrobes of gentlemen, one perfectly stitched garment at a time.
Founded in 1981 by visionary craftsman Sunil Mital, The Darzi Group began as a modest, single-store operation in Delhi. It was among the first to introduce computerised tailoring to India, preceeding the “tech-forward” norm of today. For Mital, technology was a tool to elevate traditions. By blending cutting-edge techniques with India’s rich legacy of hand-stitching, The Darzi Group carved a unique niche in modern tailoring.
At the heart of the brand lies The Darzi, its bespoke division, synonymous with excellence in custom menswear. From sharply structured suits and showstopping tuxedos to heirloom-worthy bandhgalas and ceremonial wear, each piece is handcrafted by over a hundred artisans, masters of both age-old methods and modern tailoring precision.
