RAY AND HIS DAUGHTER MELISSA ARE KEEPING THEIR TOWN SAFE

Melissa Polaski remembers growing up watching her father, Ray, bolt into the night in his bright orange overalls whenever disaster struck. Forty years later, she’s now dashing out the door beside him, responding to storms, car accidents and the rest, as a dedicated State Emergency Service (SES) volunteer.

“The SES has been a huge part of our lives since I was a kid,” Melissa tells New Idea. “So, 10 years ago I decided to become a volunteer, to spend time with Dad and give back to the community.”
