She's found fame and fortune thanks to her long career as an actress, but Brenda Blethyn has revealed she grew up in abject poverty post-World War II.

"We were very poor," the Vera star shared during an interview which aired recently on Channel Seven's Spotlight. "We lived in a slum actually." Brenda, 79, was raised in Ramsgate, Kent, the youngest of nine siblings.
