It's hard to believe the eternally youthful Goldie Hawn is now an octogenarian! But the star isn't planning on making a fuss for her 80th birthday on November 21.

Instead, Goldie's asked for a “chill, family gathering”, with her partner Kurt Russell, kids Oliver, Kate and Wyatt, stepson Boston, and her eight grandkids.

Always an open book, Goldie has shared countless nuggets of wisdom about life, love, career and family – insights that have made her a source of inspiration for fans around the world.

For much of her career, Goldie played sunny, ‘girl-next-door’ types befitting her name, so it would be easy to assume she might feel a little reluctant about getting older. Not a bit! “[It] is a fact of life,” Goldie once said. “By living mindfully, you understand there are many transitions in life. You just go through them. It’s wonderful to know you’re ageing because that means you’re still on the planet right?”

Although she is not officially retired, Goldie chose to take an extended break from acting, after filming The Banger Sisters in 2002, to focus on other life experiences.

“I believe that life is about doing,” the Death Becomes Her actress told Interview magazine in 2017. “I wanted to dig deep and say ‘who am I now?’”
