IN 2014, following the death of her mother at the age of 102, Lady Chichester inherited this fine 1740s Palladian house.
She descends from the Chandos-Pole family, which can trace its connections with the estate back to the Middle Ages. At the time of her inheritance, the fabric of the building was visibly failing and the hall ceiling was sagging as the result of the movement of a structural steel inserted during the course of 20th-century repairs.
