WHAT KIND OF MAN would lean around corners at speeds in excess of 200kph, break his right arm after crashing into another rider, return to the track a few days after his first surgery even though his arm hadn't healed properly, and continue racing to this day?

Multiple MotoGP champion Marc Marquez piqued my interest in the sport after I learned about his insatiable appetite for racing—and winning. The Spaniard has won six championships between 2013 and 2019 and broken so many bones in his body that a doctor would throw up his hands in despair. Everyone will give him his flowers if he retires. But Marquez is clearly a different breed. And as I write this story, he’s leading the 2025 edition of the MotoGP World Championship by a wide margin.
