Let's start with the fundamentals. From July 1, 2025, the superannuation guarantee rate increased to 12%, marking the final scheduled rise under current legislation.
A quick tip: check your most recent payslip or log into your superannuation account to confirm that your employer is contributing at the new rate.
New parents are now eligible to receive superannuation contributions on government paid parental leave (PPL), provided their child was born or adopted on or after July 1, 2025. These contributions will be paid after the end of the financial year in which you receive PPL.
