A MICHIGAN DESIGNER AND HER FAMILY TURN TO THE MAGIC OF TRADITION THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON

- ELLA SCHULTE

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

They say Christmas is for kids, but plenty of holiday elements aren't necessarily kid-friendly: adult tables when children are relegated to their own, adult drinks for sophisticated dinners that may appeal to those of age, and a collection of breakables that have been handed down through the generations.

For interior designer Jean Stoffer and her husband, Dale, finding a way to include their 12 grandchildren in each seasonal celebration has been a top priority for as long as they can remember.

Before the arrival of their four adult childrenDavid, John, Grace, and Daniel-and their families, the couple anticipate carrying on an assortment of traditions.

Whether it's used for baking sweet treats and preparing Christmas dinner or stringing dried berries and citrus slices to adorn the home's handful of Christmas trees, the kitchen's large prep space, visible upon first glance into the home, is lauded for its versatile nature.
