Aanchal Mittal of Aasa Concepts designs a home with artful detail, layered colour and bespoke design, perfect for gracious entertaining

The sun filters softly through the trees outside this Jor Bagh apartment, casting dappled light on interiors that feel composed yet full of life. Designed by Aanchal Mittal, founder of Aasa Concepts, the 2,100 sq ft home belongs to a Hyderabad-based entrepreneur who wanted a gracious base in Delhi for hosting guests and business associates. "She's extremely well travelled with an instinctive eye for Indian art and vintage finds. The brief was to create a home that's bold enough to impress, yet elegant and functional for entertaining," says Aanchal. The idea of royalty became the thread that ties everything together, but with a tailored approach. "Palatial design can feel overwhelming in a compact footprint," Aanchal explains. "Our challenge was to translate grandeur into something proportionate, without losing the richness of detail." The result is a space that draws on history while staying current: think jewel-toned seating, hand-finished art and carved brass accents, offset by modern comforts such as concealed technology and clever storage.
