Kiasma Studio shapes a Japanese-inspired garden in Hyderabad, merging interactive art with tranquil water features for a family home

When a young couple asked Kiasma Studio to shape the outdoors of their 2021 home in Hyderabad’s financial district, two requests guided the brief: the garden had to host gatherings with ease, and the sound of moving water had to be constant. Landscape architect Sowmya Lakhamraju placed a shallow pool at the heart of a 1,400 sq ft courtyard, letting the ripple of water set the atmosphere for both formal and everyday moments.
