RGB Architecture Studio built this two-storey home in Aluva as an ode to past generations as well as a beckoning of the future
-
This home in Aluva feels like a bridge between eras, blending timeless tradition with modern-day living. Built on ancestral land, the house is a heartfelt tribute to heritage for a couple and their three children, who wanted to live closer to their parents in Kerala. To bring their vision to life, they turned to RGB Architecture Studio, tasking the team with creating a home that honours their roots while embracing contemporary sensibilities.
The result is a two-storey sanctuary inspired by its natural and cultural surroundings. “Built on the site of a former brick kiln, it now features an exposed brick boundary as a reminder of its past,” says principal architect Niranjan Das Sharma. The thoughtful design connects spaces seamlessly, allowing sunlight to filter in and create a serene, welcoming ambience.
