It’s hard to imagine that this space could ever have been described as cold, but the original kitchen in this Federation semidetached home in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs certainly evoked a chill. “The existing kitchen was all white and very minimal, with stainless steel fittings and fixtures, and a pale blue glass splashback,” says interior designer Kristy McGregor. “No design element related to the character and charm of the existing heritage details.”
