A Season to Savor

Charming fall touches from our cottage table

Hi friends,These photos were taken last fall in our old home in Raeford, NC - our very last autumn there before we packed up and began a brand-new chapter on the coast.

Looking back, I didn’t know just how special that season would be, but I felt it in my heart as I layered this little table with all the things I love. And I wanted to share it with you, friend-because it truly was a season I will always hold close.

There's just something about fall that invites us to slow down. The light softens, the air gets a little crisper, and suddenly it feels right to light a candle in the middle of the day or set the table “just because”. That's exactly what I did here - not for a big gathering or holiday, but simply to create a moment of calm and coziness in the middle of an ordinary week.

I started with a floral block print runner in warm greens and berry reds and layered it with vintage-inspired napkins and natural textures like dried leaves, berries, and my favorite-dried gourds. I absolutely love the way each one is unique, with its own shape and personality. I tucked them into moss, stacked them under the table, and scattered them across the tabletop like little woodland treasures. A copper tea tin and simple sugar bowl made the table feel welcoming - like you could sit right down and sip something warm while chatting with a friend. I added cozy layers to the chairs with a plaid throw and cottage pillows, including one with the sweetest little pheasant print that just felt so fall.
