A decent mattress is one of the best investments you can make in your health. "It's key to unlocking a great night's sleep, which impacts how you look, feel and perform," says Rachel Beard from A.H. Beard's Sleep Wellness Centre.

Signs your mattress might be past its use-by date include sagging, noisy springs, or if you're waking up tired and stiff. Different styles include inner-spring, pocket-spring, memory foam, latex and hybrid designs that combine a spring base with a memory foam or latex top. Luxury options generally include superior support, temperature-control features and premium fabrics, such as silk.
