Is Prince George about to break a big royal tradition?

Following in MUM'S FOOTSTEPS

Growing up in the public eye can't be easy, and big changes lie ahead for Prince George, who, according to royal experts, was informed what his future of 'service and duty' would involve around his seventh birthday. As the second in line to the throne, once he turns 12 in July, he'll no longer be able to fly with his father in accordance with royal guidelines. Yet it looks like there is one tradition George will be breaking, and that's to attend an all-boys school.

Where the young prince will attend secondary has long been the subject of debate. Eton, where William and Harry both boarded, has previously been the hot favourite among commentators. Yet the Princess of Wales was said to be heartbroken at thoughts of her eldest son attending the prestigious establishment, with a palace insider disclosing, 'Sending George to such a stuffy, upper-crust institution goes against all of their efforts to modernize the monarchy.' Now, it seems Kate has got her way, with sources revealing all three of her children are set to attend the £59,000-a-year Marlborough College in Wiltshire, where she herself spent her teenage years.

Royal first

In a move away from tradition, it'll be the first time a male heir attends a co-educational school. George is currently at Lambrook School in Windsor, alongside Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, which educates pupils until they're 13.
