Gut health contributes to the body's overall wellness. Probiotic microorganisms play a crucial role in gut health.

Probiotic- Pivotal Part of Gut Health

Digestion is one of the essential physiological functions of the human body. It is often said that "health begins in the gut". Probiotic microorganisms are a group of man-friendly live microbes that reside in the human body. Trillions of such microbes are not only located in the organs of digestive system but in various parts of the body. The microbial population consists of different strains of bacteria and fungi such as Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, Streptococcus, Enterococcus, Pediococcus, Saccharomyces etc. The probiotic microbial composition of the gut is called as 'gut microflora', 'gut microbiome' or 'gut microbiota'.

The fetus gets exposed to the vaginal microflora of the mother during parturition. The process of breastfeeding imparts probiotic transfer from mother to child. As growth and development occur in the later stages of life, one's dietary habits play a major role in the nature of probiotic composition of the colon. Every individual's probiotic composition varies.
