Flavours can pep up your health or stress it! Don't let the food flavour control you, make a flavour choice based on what is best for you!!

Healthy flavours for well-being

Flavour is the core sensation of packaged food or a restaurant dish! Flavour refers to the combination of sensations, including taste, smell, texture, and temperature, which are experienced when eating or drinking. Flavour is an interesting concept because the experience of flavour depends on the chemical composition of food, the senses of taste and smell, cultural upbringing of the consumer which decides on what is good and bad flavour, and the brain's processing of sensory information. Flavours create the pull to eating a dish and are responsible for food cravings too!

An interesting way to understand the subjectivity of flavour experience is the food - fish. The characteristic fishy smell of a fish dish is relished by people who eat fish - and there are others who are uncomfortable with the fishy odour. Hence, in food marketing along with packaging, presentation and use of influencers, the core concept is focusing on flavours, which is a sensory experience. As you walk into a restaurant or open a pack of pretzels, the flavour sensory experience begins with the aroma.
