Centre to appoint 49 drug inspectors in CDSCO

THE Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has notified recruitment of 49 drug inspectors under the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), as part of strengthening the organisation's operations to regulate and monitor the drugs and pharmaceutical industry and market in the country.

The Ministry notified the appointments under the Section 21, of the D&C Act, 1940, for the whole of India, adding, "The inspectors so appointed are hereby authorised to exercise the powers and shall perform the duties as specified in Sections 21 & 22 of the said Act and the rules made thereunder".
